Learn More About WWUHS and WWU

If you are a teacher introducing WWU in the High School to your class or a student or family wanting to learn more, watch our short WWUHS Overview video!

This video includes helpful information like the advantages of the program and links to resources where you can learn more about WWU in the High School and Western Washington University.

Important Note: WWUHS courses are Western Washington University courses. They will appear on the student’s Western transcript and will count towards their academic record. It’s important to note that this course could potentially impact eligibility for federal financial aid in the future. Students should contact the WWUHS Office for support in answering any questions.

Step 1: Account Creation

Step 1: Create your Western Student Account

Students enrolled in a WWUHS eligible course should use the Account Creation Form to create a WWU account at least 7 days prior to registering. 

After completing the form, you should monitor your personal email for a message from the WWU Registrar's Office.

Step 2: Activate and Access Your WWU Account (Web4U)

After completing the Account Creation Form in Step 1, you will receive an email from the WWU Registrar's Office. It will include:

  • your WWU ID number (W#)
  • your WWU email (user@wwu.edu) - this is your WWU account login

Once you have received these, follow the Western Account Set-up Instructions to activate and access your WWU account.

Step 3: Registration (Web4U)

Prepare for Registration

To register, you will need:

  • a Course Reference Number (CRN) and term date (provided by WWUHS)
  • your WWU email/account and password

Register for Classes

  1. Go to myWestern and select Web4U.
  2. In the Students area, choose Registration and enter your WWU email/account and password to login.
  3. Select Register for Classes.
  4. Enter the correct Term and Year
  5. Select the Enter CRNs tab.
  6. Enter the course CRN provided by WWUHS.
  7. Click Add to Summary and click Submit.
  8. Check the Status area to be sure you are registered.

Remove Courses

Follow Steps 1-4 in the Register for Classes section above.

Locate the course you wish to remove on your Course Schedule Summary > under the Action drop down, select Web Delete > Submit > Confirm Schedule

After submitting, the status of the class as well as the credit amount for the term will be updated.

Optional: Complete Prerequisites for Courses (if Applicable)

Prerequisites will be communicated to students via the WWUHS Office.

College-Level Transcript: If you have courses with college equivalency, provide these to Admissions prior to registration to ensure the prerequisites are in place.

Dropping a WWUHS Course

To drop a WWU in the High School course:

  1. Review the WWUHS Instructional Calendar. You need to submit the course drop form before the "last day for withdrawal" date
  2. Be sure you have your Western log-in information (username, ending in @wwu.edu, and password). If you need to reset your password, visit the ATUS Password Information Page.
  3. Access the WWU Course Add/Drop Form.
  4. Complete the information in “Section I”
  5. In “Section II,” provide the current term and list the course that you want to drop (e.g. MATH 125, SPAN 103) and add WWUHS Course in the “Subject” field. The WWU in the High School office will add in the additional information about your course.
  6. In the “Signatures and Attachments” field, send the form to WWU in the High School: HighSchool@wwu.edu and click “Submit.”
