Library Resources

WWUHS students have full access to Western Libraries’ resources. Students can access databases and ebooks and check out books. Students also have access to Interlibrary Loan and Summit resources.

Course Reserves

  • Contact Joanna Bailey for information on setting up electronic course reserves for your classes. 
  • Course Reserves can be submitted using the Request Form. 

Hacherl Research & Writing Studio

The Hacherl Research & Writing Center provides support for the research and writing process, including: developing a thesis, reading and analyzing academic texts, finding and using sources, citations, proofreading strategies, and more. 

  • Students can get research and writing help from the Hacherl Research & Writing Studio. The Studio is available in person and online. Students can also submit drafts for review (48 hour turn-around time).
  • Self-paced Online Tutorial (SPOT): SPOT is a self-paced tutorial on the research and writing process. 
  • Online Tutorials: Shorter tutorials on all aspects of research and writing are available. Highlighted are some useful tutorials, you can also search the index. All video tutorials are also available on YouTube.

Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center offers support for math and science as well as help with study skills, note taking, reading comprehension, test taking, and time management.

A Study Skills booklet can be downloaded as a PDF. The Tutoring Center provides services for faculty, including study skills presentations.

Subject Librarians

Students can get one-on-one help from subject librarians. Librarians are organized into three teams: Science, Social Sciences (including education and business), and Arts and Humanities.

  • Subject Research Guides: Research and resource guides for specific subjects are curated by Subject Librarians.
