Faculty Coordinator Information

The Faculty Coordinator (faculty liaison) is a Western faculty member who coordinates, manages, and evaluates the curriculum of a WWUHS course or series of courses.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain course curriculum, syllabi, and instructional materials
  • Ensure alignment of high school courses with Western’s standards and expectations
  • Train and support high school teachers in course delivery and assessment
  • Collaborate with high school teachers to promote effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Evaluate student work and provide feedback to high school teachers
  • Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts
  • Foster a culture of academic rigor, inquiry, and excellence

Accreditation Requirements

The WWUHS Faculty Coordinator is responsible for completing the following documents for accreditation and compliance requirements:

  • A Course Statement of Equivalency
  • A Departmentally Approved Course Syllabus Template
  • A Review of the WWUHS Course Syllabus
  • A Course Training Plan
  • An Observation for Each WWUHS Course
  • A Marked Assessment, aligned with the high school assessment, and subsequent review
