WWUHS Mission

The WWUHS Program contributes to the WWU mission by extending Western Washington University’s core values and commitments to a broader educational community. Through the WWUHS Program, high school students are provided with enriching educational opportunities that align closely with Western’s dedication to academic excellence, sustainability, equity, justice, and creativity. By integrating these values into the high school curriculum, WWUHS not only prepares students for higher education but also instills in them a commitment to integrity, responsibility, and accountability. Moreover, the program fosters an inclusive learning environment that values diversity and empowers students to become engaged citizens and lifelong learners, thus furthering Western Washington University’s mission to make a positive impact in the state and the world. Through these efforts, WWUHS serves as an extension of Western’s educational ethos, aiming to contribute to student success and societal well-being both locally and globally.

WWU in the High School (WWUHS) program provides high school students with opportunities to enrich their education with quality learning experiences and prepare them for college and beyond. The WWUHS program is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and empowers students to be engaged citizens and lifelong learners.
